It was an exciting October at Brain Power! Brain Power student Ana Stefania Mocanu (pictured above) won a Bronze Medal for her essay in The Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition!

September was a wonderful start to the school year at Brain Power! We are very proud of our alumnus of the month, David Firer (pictured above), who was awarded the Governor General’s Academic Medal for 2017-2018!

Recording Studio 2018!

JUNE 30TH, 2018

On June 3rd and 6th, Karine took Brain Power’s Public Speaking students to a professional recording studio in Toronto to record their end-of-year final projects: self-made podcasts.  The students — who have been practicing a range of presentation skills — worked with a voice coach and sound engineer to perfect their final products. Two of Brain Power’s Public Speaking students won top places in the 2018 Speakers Idol competition (in Ontario)! This year’s contestants were asked to reflect on Simon Wiesenthal’s statement that “Freedom of speech is not freedom to propagate hatred.” Our very own Sam Gorman and Cora Usurelu (pictured below) placed FIRST and SECOND in the competition (respectively)! In March, YorkRegion.com/The Vaughan Citizen published an article on two of Brain Power’s Public Speaking students who were set to compete in the finals of  the 2018 Speaker’s Idol competition (in Ontario) later that month.
