In March, YorkRegion.com/The Vaughan Citizen published an article on two of Brain Power’s Public Speaking students who were set to compete in the finals of the 2018 Speaker’s Idol competition (in Ontario) later that month. Those two students, our very own Sam Gorman and Cora Usurelu (pictured below) placed FIRST and SECOND in the competition (respectively)! Another of our students, Diviya Leonard, placed in the top five! This year’s contestants were asked to reflect on Simon Wiesenthal’s statement that “Freedom of speech is not freedom to propagate hatred.” ...

In the article, Brain Power’s founder and director, Dr. Karine Rashkovsky, says our mission is “to provide unique curriculum, world-class teaching and experiential learning opportunities, all while exceeding current educational standards and promoting a social conscience.”

In the summer of 2014, Brain Power students, ages 13 and up, competed in an in-house essay-writing competition in order for a chance to win a week-long experiential learning retreat to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia!
