Parasmai Conjeevaram Wins Gold Award

We are proud to announce that Brain Power student Parasmai Conjeevaram won a Gold Award in the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition 2021! The Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition is a prestigious an international essay writing competition from the Royal Commonwealth Society for youth aged 18 and under! This year a record-breaking 25,648 students entered the competition! CONGRATULATIONS, PARASMAI!

Workshop with Canadian Olympian Sarah Wells

On October 1, Brain Power made it possible for over 60 of our wonderful students to attend an incredible online leadership and success workshop (“Re-define Success”) by Canadian olympian (and Amazing Race star) Sarah Wells! Brain Power always strives to go above and beyond our amazing enrichment programs, working to create community and provide incredible extra-curricular opportunities like this for our students. Our students went away VERY inspired! THANKS FOR THE INSPIRATION, SARAH!

Brain Power Student Selected for Harvard Summer School

Brain Power student Alex Balaci has been selected to participate in this year’s Harvard Summer School and SHAD! Harvard Summer School offers two different programs that both offer a transformative introduction to college life. Participants get exposure to college-level academics, meet new friends from around the world, strengthen their college applications, and build important life skills for future college success!  WE’RE PROUD OF YOU, ALEX!

Karine Rashkovsky Honoured at Inspiring Women 2021!

Brain Power’s founder and director, Dr. Karine Rashkovsky, was invited by Stephen Lecce, Ontario Minister of Education, to be honoured at the Inspiring Women’s 2021 (Virtual) Celebration on March 8. This celebration brought together selected outstanding female entrepreneurs, philanthropists, business and non-profit leaders and pioneers. WE’RE PROUD OF YOU, KARINE!

Cora Usurelu Wins Chancellor’s Scholarship

FEBRUARY 23RD, 2021

Brain Power alumna Cora Usurelu has been selected as one of 50 recipients of the prestigious Queen’s Chancellor’s Scholarship (valued at $36,000)! The scholarship requires that the candidate demonstrate superior academic ability, creative and original thinking, and proven leadership qualities. Cora will be attending her first year of Queen’s Commerce in the fall! CONGRATULATIONS, CORA!

Achinthyaa Kaveri Wins Writing Competition

FEBRUARY 23RD, 2021

Brain Power student Achinthyaa Kaveri has been awarded the Silver Key in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards presented by the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers for her short story “The Last Painting.” In the past, the Scholastic Awards has recognized some famous artists when they were teenagers, including  Andy Warhol, Tschabalala Self, Stephen King, Charles White, Joyce Carol Oates, and Kay Walkingstick CONGRATULATIONS, ACHINTHYAA!
