Krishna Basani Wins SHAD Design Challenge

Brain Power alumna Krishna Basani’s team won this year’s SHAD Design Challenge at the University of Calgary! They received the Best Application of Theme, Best Application of Science, Best Prototype and Best Overall awards for their design! THAT IS AMAZING! WAY TO GO, KRISHNA!

Charlotte Wong is Scholastic Kid Reporter

Brain Power student Charlotte Wong has been selected to join Scholastic Kids Press as a Kid Reporter for the academic year 2021-2022.  She is the only Kid Reporter to represent Canada this year to report news to all children around the world. Scholastic Kids Press is a group of talented Kid Reporters, ages 10–14, from aaround the world. Parasmai Conjeevaram Wins Gold Award

We are proud to announce that Brain Power student Parasmai Conjeevaram won a Gold Award in the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition 2021! The Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition is a prestigious an international essay writing competition from the Royal Commonwealth Society for youth aged 18 and under! This year a record-breaking 25,648 students entered the competition! CONGRATULATIONS, PARASMAI!

Workshop with Canadian Olympian Sarah Wells

On October 1, Brain Power made it possible for over 60 of our wonderful students to attend an incredible online leadership and success workshop (“Re-define Success”) by Canadian olympian (and Amazing Race star) Sarah Wells! Brain Power always strives to go above and beyond our amazing enrichment programs, working to create community and provide incredible extra-curricular opportunities like this for our students. The Importance of Being Earnest

Dr. Ana-Maria Jerca, Dr. Karine Rashkovsky, Brain Power students and families (…and even one BP alumni from Queen’s University!) attended a theatre-outing to enjoy Oscar Wilde’s classic play “The Importance of Being Earnest” at the Capitol Theatre in Port Hope, Ontario. Students in Intermediate and Senior Language Arts have been studying Oscar Wilde at Brain Power. What a treat to enjoy this great masterpiece together with live theatre! Post-show, we all congregated outdoors under the stars to deliberate the deeper takeaways from the play....
