For every curious mind, whether they already puzzle over riddles or are about to discover that puzzles are their thing.
What happens when a child meets a puzzle that comes with no instructions at all? Enigma Explorers was created by Brain Power’s PhD and expert team together with one of only two enigmatologists in the world, a TED speaker whose academic field is the study of puzzles. (Yes, that is a real job. Your child may soon want it!)
Each week, students crack original logic puzzles and brain teasers, including the Lo Shu square, an ancient Chinese magic square and many more interesting puzzles from around the world. They learn to spot patterns, question their first assumption, and reach for multiple problem solvings second strategies. Those are the same habits that carry a student through a hard math problem, a science fair project, and eventually a university exam. Fair warning: many parents first notice the program at the dinner table, when their child sets them a puzzle and waits, patiently, to see whether they can solve it.
This program empowers young learners not just to get the right answer—but to think about how they think. And it’s only available in this form to St. James Lutheran School.
“Erin was bubbling with ideas. She even taught her parents how to do magic squares after class!” Parent, Enigma Explorers
