Literacy Bridge (JK-SK)
Grades: JK-SK
Give your child a strong and joyful start on the path to reading and writing! Brain Power’s Foundational Literacy Bridge is a 12-lesson program designed for bright and curious Junior and Senior Kindergarten learners who are preparing to enter our Primary English Language Arts programs.
Through engaging, hands-on instruction, students build essential early literacy skills in phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, spelling, sight-word recognition, reading, and writing. Each lesson introduces new letter-sound relationships while reinforcing previously learned concepts through cumulative practice, helping students develop confidence and steadily progress toward greater independence.
The program is organized into four engaging thematic units:
- Everyday Courage
- Imagination Station
- What’s the Weather Today?
- My Community and Me
Within these units, young learners will explore sounds and words through blending, segmenting, letter tracing, picture-based activities, rhyming, guided spelling, and brief decodable texts, alongside engaging read-alouds that build vocabulary, comprehension, and early book-handling skills. The program’s highly visual, age-appropriate approach makes learning accessible, playful, and intellectually stimulating while nurturing the curiosity and love of learning at the heart of the Brain Power experience.
By the end of the program, students will have strengthened the foundational skills and confidence they need to take the next step in their Brain Power journey.
