Admissions & Applications Workshop
Grades 5-8 – 1x per week – Sept. 7, 14, 21, 28 (Schwartz/Reisman Centre)
Our Admissions and Applications Workshop is designed to prepare students for successful admission to junior-high and high-school programs (such as University of Toronto Schools, Upper Canada College, Branksome Hall, Royal St. Georges Colleges, Bishop Strachan, and many more).
While school grades and test-taking skills are a key part of the admission process, most admission officers advise that a personal statement and interview are what truly reveal a student’s potential to contribute and thrive in an elite program or school.
In the majority of programs, admissions teams are looking for evidence of a student’s above-average social skills, critical-thinking and writing skills, creativity, and strong sense of self.
Our Admissions and Applications workshop is designed to give students the confidence and clarity needed to excel in the admissions process. We also help families review and understand ‘fit’ for various schools and programs, as well as build a schedule plan to complete open house visits and applications.
Our experts will ensure that students:
- Develop a compelling CV and ‘social media’ audit
- Produce a ‘stand out’ and authentic personal narrative
- Craft impressive personal statements and admission essays
- Gain interview skills for both for in-person and virtual interviews, including:
- storytelling strategies
- body language
- techniques for addressing ‘tough questions’
- and much more
With over 30 years of experience working with high-potential students, we have helped our entrance preparation students to be accepted at a rate of 5 times the average to the program(s) of their choice.
